『戦わないスポーツ』

昨日の夜は久々にバレーボールをしっかり観ました。
元バレーボーラーのはづきとしては、やはり気になってしまいます（笑）。
結局、日本はフルセットの末、負けてしまいましたが、
一生懸命やっているのが伝わってきて、とても口惜しかったです。
勝てばいい…というものではありませんが、
バレーボールのようなスポーツにおいて、肉体的なハンデは
なんともし難いものがあります。
昨日の対戦相手のセルビアと日本のレギュラーの平均身長は、
１０センチもの差があります。
元バレーボーラーのはづきとしては、その「１０センチの差」が
どれだけ大きいかは、わかっているつもりなので、観ていると
口惜しいのを通り越して、なんだか切なくなって来ます。
170㎝と190㎝とが同じアタッカーとしてネットをはさんで向き合うのですから…。
やっぱりちょっと切ないですね…（苦笑）。

もうすぐ北京オリンピックが開催されますが、勝ち負けを争って
順位を競うというスポーツのやり方は、そろそろ限界に来ているような
気がします。
はづきの友人でもあり、尊敬している浜口隆則さんが、
『戦わない経営』という、とても素晴らしい本を出されていますが、
もうそろそろ『戦わないスポーツ』という意識が広がってきても
いいのではないかと、はづきは想います。
「勝負事は勝たないと意味がない」と言われますが、
本当にそうでしょうか？
「勝てば官軍」で、勝つことがすべて正しく、
勝てばなんでもいい…というワケではないでしょう。
昨日の大相撲の結びの一番の横綱同士の対戦も、
スポーツニュースでチラッと見ましたが、なんだかほとんど
ケンカに近いような印象を受けました。
相撲を格闘技としてとらえれば、そういう態度でも良いのかもしれませんが、
外国人同士の横綱にどこまで日本人が代々受け継いで来た大相撲のスピリットが
伝わっているのかは、甚だ疑問に感じます。

スポーツ自体の効用や素晴らしさに水を指すつもりはありませんが、
スポーツとビジネスとが結びつくと、それはスポーツの方ではなく、
ビジネスの要素の方が、より強くなるような気がします。
そうすると当然、スポーツもビジネスの価値観に支配されてしまうワケで、
「戦わないで経営」することが難しくなってしまうのでしょう…。
元々のオリンピックも「アマチュアスポーツの祭典」だったハズですが、
今は「アマチュア」を探す方が難しいのではないでしょうか？
スポーツという表現手段は、音楽やダンス、芸術と同じように
ボーダーレスの素晴らしいコミュニケーション手段だと想います。
言葉を通じて仲良くなるのには時間がかかりますが、ひとつのボールを蹴ったり、
投げたり、打ったりすることを通じて、私たちはつながることが出来るのです。
スポーツの素晴らしさの原点は、そこにあるのではないでしょうか？
ボーダーレスの表現手段であり、コミュニケーション手段としての
スポーツの素晴らしさがクローズアップされるような…、
そんなオリンピックが出来るといいな～と、
昨日のバレーボールを観ていて、そんなことを想いました。
そんなことを考える、はづきはやっぱり変な人なんですかね～（苦笑）。

戦わないという感覚、そういう感覚がもっと広がったらいいなぁと思います。
甲子園など両チームがんばってほしいと思ってしまう私にとって(それは両チームにそれほど深い思い入れがないということでもあるのですが...)、そういう感覚があってもいんだ！とうれしくなりました。
いいも悪いもないというはづきさんの考え方にすごく共感します。
